WE’RE TAKING A BREAK.
After seven editions, Ricci Weekender will not take place this year.
This is an announcement we didn’t want to make but we feel it is important to be honest and transparent with the community that has supported Ricci Weekender since the beginning in 2018.
What started as a small experiment conceived by Ed Wilson, Gilles Peterson and Diego Vespa has grown into something very special - a space where music, food and natural wine meet. Artists, chefs and winemakers sharing ideas, tables and dancefloors with our audience. It has never been a conventional festival and that spirit has always been at the heart of it.
At the same time, the situation for independent cultural organisations across Europe has become increasingly challenging. Rising costs and inconsistent support from local and regional institutions have made it harder each year to sustain the festival in the way we believe it should exist.
Rather than pushing ahead under these conditions, we have decided to take this year as a moment to pause and rethink.
We want to use this time to reset and find a way for Ricci Weekender to return in the future in a sustainable form that preserves our founding spirit but takes into account the realities of the current moment.
This has always been a collective project a bringing together audience, friends and collaborators and we hope that you will support us as we go through this moment of transition.
